Scandal
From the producer of Grey’s Anatomy, Shonda Rhimes, Scandal is an American political thriller drama that airs on ABC.

The show began in 2012 and spans over seven seasons, revolving around the story of Olivia Pope and her crisis-management firm, the White House and the political scene during the presidency of Fitzgerald Grant III.

Insecure
If you’re in the mood to watch something that will make you laugh and cringe at the same time, Issa Rae’s comedy-drama will do just that!

The show began airing in 2016 and is scheduled for a third season this August. ‘Insecure’ is based around the awkward life experiences of a 20-something African American woman that examines “the complexities of ‘blackness’,” according to Issa Rae.

The show aims to convey the message that people of color are relatable and how the female protagonists perceive the female black experience in America today.

Modern Family
This is one show that you can’t have missed, unless you’re living under a rock. Modern Family is an American family sitcom which began airing on ABC in 2009.

Based around the life of Jay Pritchett and his family, Modern Family is one show that will make you laugh, cry, cringe and touch your heart all at the same time.
